Rajinikanth is gearing up for the shoot of his highly-anticipated film, temporarily called Thalaivar 170. Directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, the film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The production house took to its handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to announce to new additions to the film’s stellar ensemble cast. They announced that Telugu star Rana Daggubati and Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil have been roped in for the project.
Lyca Productions shared black-and-white posters of the actors in two separate posts to announce their confirmation. They posted, “Welcoming the dapper & supercool talent Mr. Rana Daggubati ✨ on board for #Thalaivar170#Thalaivar170Team has gotten even more charismatic with the addition of the dashing @RanaDaggubati ✌.”

Announcing Fahadh’s addition to the cast, they posted, “Welcoming the incredibly versatile talent Mr. Fahadh Faasil ✨ on board for #Thalaivar170#Thalaivar170Team gains a powerful new addition with the astonishing performer #FahadhFaasil joining them. .”

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has begun his schedule for the film’s shoot in Trivandrum. During an interaction with the media at the Chennai airport, he said, “I’m doing my 170th film with director Gnanavel and Lyca which will be a huge entertainer at the same time with a social message… The title for the movie is not decided yet.”
The film will be produced by Subaskaran and Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for the film. On Monday, the makers confirmed actresses Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier and Dushara Vijayan for the film.
