Karwa Chauth is being celebrated with great fervour all over India. It is a very special day for married women. The same goes for the leading ladies of Bollywood. Some of our favourite actresses have tied the knot recently. They are going to celebrate their very first Karwa Chauth this year with their husbands.
As part of Karwa Chauth rituals, women observe a fast. After looking at the moon through a sieve, married women break their fast by eating a small bite of food and a sip of water from their husbands’ hands. This ritual, known as Karwa Chauth vrat, holds great importance in the festival. While it is traditionally observed by married women, however, both married men and unmarried couples also participate in the fast.
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who is married to businessman Raj Kundra, is gearing up to celebrate the event with much fervour. The actress recently took to her social media platform to offer a sneak peek into her preparations. Shilpa shared an photo of her exquisite Sargi for the celebration on her Instagram story. The picture features an assortment of items, including bangles, packets of bindi, and a variety of sweets like malpua, sutarpheni and laddoos. The hamper also featured a sieve and a few mehendi cones for the auspicious ocassion.
She wore a traditional pink sari with red patchwork design and an embroidered blouse. She accessorised the look with a gold choker, red bangles and mangalsutra. She also wore sindoor. Shilpa made her way out of the car and posed for the paps. Mira Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor’s wife, too, was spotted at the puja wearing a beautiful red sari.
Every year, Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita Kapoor hosts a grand Karwa Chauth puja at her residence and it is attended by Bollywood wives.
