Urvashi Rautela is unquestionably one of India’s most sought-after actresses. She has made a name for herself as a successful model and won the prestigious title of Miss Diva Universe in 2015. She was also accorded the opportunity to represent India in the Miss Universe pageant in the same year.
Urvashi made her acting debut at the age of 19 with Sunny Deol starrer Singh Saab the Great, directed by Anil Sharma. The film, which was released in 2013, sadly failed to impress the audience and critics.
Despite having a budget of Rs 42 crore, the movie struggled to break even at the box office. It managed to earn just Rs 32 crore worldwide. The actress then starred in films including Sanam Re, Great Grand Masti, Hate Story 4 and Pagalpanti. But she failed to make an impact on the big screens.
Urvashi even tried her luck in the Kannada industry with the film Mr. Airavata in 2014. Apart from this, she also starred in the 2022 Tamil film The Legend. The actress was last seen in the film Bro. Now, she is all set to star in a slew of upcoming films including Zebra, Black Rose, Not Your Baby, and Skanda: The Attacker. Besides this, she is all geared up to make her Hollywood debut in an upcoming Netflix movie, tentatively titled Renata Fonte. She will be sharing the screen with Michele Morrone and the film is directed by Barbara Bialowas.
Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film Skanda: The Attacker also starred Ram Pothineni and Saiee Manjrekar in pivotal roles. Touted to be an action drama, the film is all set to hit the theatres on September 28.
She rose to fame in late 2014 when she featured in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s music video Love Dose. Apart from acting and modelling, she is involved in philanthropy through the Urvashi Rautela Foundation, a family initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged individuals in India by addressing their needs and rights. She is also an active supporter of PETA India and campaigns for the cause of saving the girl child.
