The tickets for India vs South Africa ODI World Cup 2023 contest were being sold for Rs 11,000 each, in the black market. A person from Kolkata was arrested by the police for selling the tickets in black, with 20 tickets for the World Cup contest seized from the man.
According to news agency ANI, a person named Ankit Agarwal was arrested by Kolkata police for selling tickets of the India vs South Africa game. The original price of the tickets was Rs 2,500 each, although Agarwal was selling each ticket for as high as Rs 11,000.
The hosts of the World Cup, India are set to lock horns with South Africa on November 5, in what could be a top-of-the-table clash to decide which team will finish higher in the points table.

Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue are currently sitting pretty at the top of the points table having won all six group games in the tournament so far, whereas South Africa are second with five wins, having faced a solitary defeat against the Netherlands.
According to the format of the World Cup, the team which finishes top of the table will face the team which finishes fourth, in the semifinals. Ahead of their fixture against South Africa, India will face Sri Lanka in Mumbai on Thursday, November 2.
Meanwhile, the Proteas will face fellow top-four hopefuls New Zealand on Wednesday, November 1.

Temba Bavuma’s men have been in stellar form during the World Cup so far, they have the best Net Run Rate (NRR) among all teams, and a win over the Kiwis would see them reclaim top spot in the points table.
While India’s NRR is +1.405 with 12 points from six matches, South Africa have 10 points and +2.032 NRR after six outings.
