Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli trail Quinton de Kock in ODI World cup golden bat race, while Jasprit Bumrah cut down Adam Zampa's lead atop golden ball tally.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma smashed an 87-run knock against England which not only helped the Men in Blue reach a fight-worthy total of 229/9, but he also kept himself in the race for the ODI World Cup golden bat. Rohit is currently fourth in the golden bat list with South Africa’s Quinton de Kock leading the tally for most runs scored in the tournament. Virat Kohli is close behind on sixth, although he failed to open his account against the defending champions in Lucknow.

Jasprit Bumrah meanwhile edged closer to Australia’s Adam Zampa who is leading the race for the golden ball with 16 wickets, while Bumrah’s three-wicket haul at Ekana Stadium helped him to 14 wickets.

Rohit and Co. dished out a clinical performance against the 2019 World Cup champions, winning by a comprehensive margin of 100 runs. The Hitman played a captain’s knock on a tricky surface, helping India to a par total as England folded for 129.
