Watch: Fakhar Zaman Hits a Monstrous Six, Leaves Commentators Stunned
Fakhar Zaman struck a monstrous six against Bangladesh which left the bowler and the commentators impressed.

Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was in superb touch during his team’s World Cup fixture against Bangladesh on Tuesday. Zaman played a fine innings of 81 off 74 to earn a convincing win for Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

During his superb innings, Zaman walloped a monstrous six which reportedly was 99 meters long.

Facing pacer Taskin Ahmed in the fifth over of the game, Fakhar clobbered the massive six over square leg region. The bowler was himself in disbelief seeing the giant strike and couldn’t help himself from smiling.

Zaman’s incredible shot left commentators awestruck. “What a sound. Wow. That’s a proper whack,” Ravi Shastri said on-air.

Waqar Younis, who was in the commentary box, said, “Wow. 95 meters. Easily the biggest of the tournament so far I guess.”

Former Australia allrounder Shane Watson said, “There are not too many batters in the world who can do that to that ball.”

Zaman, who blasted seven sixes during the innings, was named Player of the Match for his superb show with the bat.

Zaman’s power-packed knock comprised three boundaries and seven sixes.

His innings came to an end in the 28th over after he was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 81. Chasing a total of 205, Fakhar and Abdullah Shafique stitched a solid opening partnership of 128 for Pakistan.

Shafique went back to the dressing room having produced a vital knock of 68 off 69 balls.

Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten having scored 26 off 21. It was Rizwan who scored the winning runs in the 33rd over of the contest.

The resounding seven-wicket triumph over Bangladesh helped Pakistan end their miserable four-match losing streak at the World Cup.

Babar Azam’s men are now placed in fifth position in the World Cup standings with six points from seven games.

Pakistan will be aiming to win their remaining two games to stay alive in the hunt for a spot in the semi-finals. In their next fixture, they will be up against New Zealand on November 4.
