New Delhi: Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was taken to AIIMS hospital on Monday evening because of kidney related complications, Tihar Jail authorities said. They added that his creatinine levels were too high and he needed medical attention.
There is still no clarity on whether Amar Singh will be admitted or if he will return to the jail on Monday night itself.
A Delhi court on Tuesday will pronounce its decision on his bail plea on health grounds.
Noted lawyer and BJP MP Ram Jethmalani, who is defending him, argued in court on Monday that the bribe money in the cash-for-votes scam may have come from the BJP itself.
He said that if LK Advani has admitted that he was the one who gave the go ahead with the operations, then it is possible that the money came from the BJP.
