AP tops the list of expenditure sensitive states this election season

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh currently tops the list of expenditure sensitive states in the poll season across the country. Reviewing election preparation of the state, CEC VS Sampath expressed concern as 46 per cent of the total Rs 232 crore seized in the whole country belongs to AP alone.

About Rs 105 crore have been seized by police and election officials since March. Flying squads and intensive police patrolling are some of the measures taken to keep cash flow in check.

The Election Commission has also asked banks to furnish details of accounts where any suspicious transactions have taken place.
