BJD's adamant attitude led to support withrawal: BJP
Partners call off 10-year-old alliance after bickering over seats.

New Delhi: The BJP on Friday said that it was left with no option but to withdraw support to the BJD government in Orissa and accused the party, led by Chief Minister Navin Patnaik, of being "adamant" on the issue of seat-sharing.

"Taking note of the adamant attitude of the BJD, the party chief (Rajnath Singh) was left with no option but to direct the state leaders to inform the decision (to withdraw support) to the state Governor," an official in the party president office said.

Senior leaders of the party, including party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, former party presidents Murli Manohar Joshi and Venkaiah Naidu and Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who all are campaining in their respective areas, have been asked to return to Delhi for an urgent office bearers meeting on Saturday.

Advani is also scheduled to attend the meeting after addressing a public rally in Dehradun on Saturday.
