Two suspects have been brought in for questioning. Police are suspecting it to be a case of personal enmity.
Large amounts of ammunition including an AK-47 and two 9mm pistols have been recovered from the spot. "We are trying to arrest the culprits. Weapons used in the attack have been recovered," ADG Law and Order Daljeet Chaudhary said.
Union Minister Mahesh Sharma visited Brijpal at the hospital and said that doctors are doing their best to save his life.
Pointing at the lawlessness in the state, Sharma hit out at the Samajwadi Party government saying that the use of AK-47 rifles shows that criminals have no fear of the law. "Even police personnel don't have ak 47. The situation in the state is worrying," he said.
