Coimbatore: BJP on Sunday said it would hold state-wide demonstrations on August 10 and 11 demanding prohibition and closure of state-run (TASMAC) outlets.
"The protests will continue till TASMAC outlets were closed in Tamil Nadu," state unit president Tamizhisai Soundararajan told reporters at nearby Mettupalayam.
She said she will be participating in the demonstrations in Salem on Monday and in Chennai on August 11.
The protests will be held at district headquarters and would be led by local presidents and office bearers, she added.
Tamil Nadu has more number of people with drinking habits, compared to other States and also liquor-related accidents, she claimed.
