76. Churhat is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Sidhi Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Churhat falls in Sidhi district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,28,550 voters in the seat, which includes 1,21,420 male voters, and 1,07,132 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Churhat recorded a voter turnout of 68.83%. In 2013 the turnout was 68.67%, and in 2008 it was 66.2%.
In 2013, Ajay Arjun Singh of INC won the seat by a margin of 19,356 votes (13.19%). Ajay Arjun Singh secured 48.92% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 10,835 votes (9.15%), registering 38.22% of the total votes polled.
