The Lieutenant Governor's meeting with the Prime Minister raised speculation that Jung might have proposed fresh polls in Delhi.
New Delhi: Najeeb Jung, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, on Thursday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and apprised him of the prevailing political situation in the national capital where the President's rule is imposed and the Legislative Assembly is in a suspended animation.
On Wednesday, Jung met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at South Block.
The Lieutenant Governor's meeting with the Prime Minister raised speculation that Jung might have proposed fresh polls in the state, as no party so far has shown any interest to form the government.
However, the PMO said, "It was a courtesy meeting and Jung conveyed his best wishes to the Prime Minister."
