Bihar will vote in the fourth phase on November 1 when 55 seats will see 776 candidates in the fray. But out of those, 253 (33%) candidates have declared criminal cases against themselves while 201 (26%) have declared serious criminal cases including cases related to murder, attempt to murder, communal disharmony, kidnapping, crimes against women etc.
In terms of percentage, Janata dal United (JDU) has the maximum candidates with criminal charges in fourth round as 71% (15 out of 21) have declared so in their affidavit. Among the other major parties, 17 (65%) out of 26 candidates of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), 28 (67%) out of 42 candidates from Bharatiya Janata Party and 3 (38%) out of 8 candidates fielded by Congress have declared criminal cases.
