I want action against my husband, expected Kejriwal to act: Somnath Bharti's wife
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somnath Bharti's wife Lipika Mitra claimed that she had "electronic evidence" against her husband, adding that the whole controversy had taken "a toll" on her.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti's wife Somnath Bharti on Monday said that she wanted action to be taken against the former Delhi law minister over domestic violence issues.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Mitra claimed that she had "electronic evidence" against her husband, adding that the whole controversy had taken "a toll" on her.

"It is shameful for me to prove after five years of marriage and two kids that I have a relationship with my husband Somnath Bharti," said the AAP leader's wife.

Mitra also said that she expected Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal to act against Bharti following her complaints of domestic violence.

Dismissing all claims made by former Delhi law minister Bharti, she said, "Bharti comes to my house only in night, and everyone in my neighbourhood is aware of this. But I would like to add that he doesn't drink or smoke."

Mitra further alleged that Bharti had been approaching all common friends and relatives, including her landlord, to convince her for taking back the complaint made to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).

She added that Somnath Bharti is coaxing her relatives and acquaintances to influence her to drop the charges, adding that she has also been accused by Somanth of working for the BJP.

Refuting allegations of mistreating Bharti's mother, the AAP leader's wife said, "If he has thrown me out of his house, how can I be blamed for not wanting to live with his mother?"

This came even as Somnath Bharti took to micro-blogging website Twitter, targeting DCW chief Barkha Singh. In his first tweet on the issue, the AAP leader questioned if DCW was meant to "break the family or unite" it.

Bharti also questioned the need for a press conference before June 26, when he has been summoned to appear before the DCW over his wife's complaint.

This came two days after the former Delhi law minister claimed that all charges against her were untrue and lacked substance, adding that he would appear before the DCW wherever he had to "when a legitimate need" arose.

Bharti claimed that he had been living separately from his wife for the past five years and therefore there was "no question of any domestic violence".
