New Delhi: With upcoming civic body polls in mind, the BJP leadership in MCD on Friday alleged that the trifurcation of the civic body will undo all the progress made under a united body.
Presenting the budget in the MCD House, Standing Committee Chairman Yogender Chandolia claimed that the city has developed manifold under its rule and blamed the Congress-led Delhi goverment for the shortcomings.
He claimed that the progress made under the 'united' MCD will be undone with the trifurcation, the brainchild of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Chandolia announced a budget of Rs 7,824 crore aimed at local development. This budget is unlikely to be implemented as the civic body is geared up for the split.
The budget proposes to increase the councilor's fund from Rs one crore to Rs 2.05 crore each.
