The young director in the picture is none other than the prominent filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. In the photos going viral, he is seen standing beside MG Ramachandran. Venkat Prabhu is one of the most notable names in the film industry. He is popular not only for his direction, but also his acting and singing skills. He debuted in the industry as a playback singer initially. Then in the mid-90s he was cast in several films as an actor, one being under the direction of his father Gangai Amaren, but those films failed to get a proper release. In 2002, he finally made his debut as an actor with the film April Maadhathil, in which he was seen in a supporting role. He found success as an actor with films like Ji, Sivakasi, Vaazthugal, Unnai Charanadaindhen, and more.
In 2007, Venkat Prabhu made his directorial debut with the sports film titled Chennai 600028, which was produced by SPB Charan. The film was a sleeper hit, and became a cult classic in the later years. After that, he directed the film Saroja, a comedy thriller released in 2008. His biggest film as a director is the Ajith Kumar-starrer Mankatha, which was released in 2011, and was a blockbuster hit.
At the moment, Venkat Prabhu is working as a director for the film GOAT (Greatest of All Time), which stars actor Vijay in the lead. The cast also includes names like Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Jayaram, Mohan, Sneha, Laila, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaran, and many more. It is being produced under the banner of AGS Entertainment, and Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music.
