He said that the film is an investigative thriller that will entertain the audience with its commercial elements.

Telugu actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is currently the talk of the town with his upcoming film Devil, directed by Abhishek Nama. Releasing on December 29, the film has raised fervour with its interesting plot, trailer, and stellar star cast. With barely a day left for the film’s release, Kalyan Ram interacted with the media regarding this project. He said that the film is an investigative thriller that will entertain the audience with its commercial elements. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram shared other interesting insights about the film as well. According to him, writer Srikanth Vissa narrated the storyline of Devil to him in 2021. Kalyan recalled that at that time, the hero’s character didn’t resonate with the backdrop of the 1940s era. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram said that he advised Srikanth about two things. One of them was that he would go ahead with the movie, only if Srikanth developed it more commercially. It is because, as Kalyan Ram said, Abhishek Nama directs films with commercial premises only.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram also told Srikanth that he should keep the background and the hero’s character in the film intact. The Bimbisara actor told the media that Srikanth worked on the script for 2-3 months and made the desired changes. Post the changes in the script, Kalyan Ram said that it took the team a year to complete the film’s shooting.

When asked about the preparation for the role, Kalyan Ram said that he didn’t follow any special method for essaying the lead role. According to him, whenever the character feels new to him, his dialogue delivery and acting style will change.

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram also talked about the possibility of a sequel to the film. He said, “We had a discussion about the sequel to Devil. We did 40-50 percent scriptwork. We also wanted to shoot at one stage. But we didn’t want to mix everything. We will announce the sequel on December 29 after seeing the response to the movie Devil.”

He also showered compliments on Devil’s crew, including cinematographer Soundar Rajan. He said that due to Rajan’s work, the quality of visuals turned out to be far better than what he had expected while hearing the story.
