Thalapathy Vijay ended the year 2023 on a high note, with the massive success of the Lokesh Kanagaraj film Leo. The film did well both critically and commercially. Now, all eyes are on his next film titled Greatest Of All Time or GOAT, which is being directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film’s shooting is moving forward at a brisk pace. The makers’ recently released poster of the film revealed that Vijay is playing a double role in the film, as it features two iterations of the actor, walking side by side.
Vijay is paired opposite Sneha in the film, with whom he is reunited after 22 years. The pair were last seen together in the 2003 release Vaseegara. Talking at a recent awards ceremony, Sneha revealed her happiness at being able to work with Vijay after 22 years. According to a report in ETimes, she said she was lucky to bag the role in GOAT. She said that during filming she asked Vijay how he managed to look the same after so many years and that he asked her the same in return. She also called Vijay a very sweet person and said he was doing very well in life.
Sneha’s husband and actor Prasanna also made a revelation about his wife. According to him, Sneha was offered the role of Vijay’s sister in last year’s Sankranti release Varisu. She had turned down the role and he says that she is glad she did it as he feels the decision was instrumental in her bagging the lead actress role opposite Vijay in GOAT.
The team of GOAT finished a schedule of shooting in Hyderabad, wrapping up in time to celebrate the New Year. After the festivities, the team flew to Sri Lanka on January 3 for another schedule of the filming process.
GOAT also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as another female lead, probably paired opposite the younger Vijay character. Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Amir, Yogi Babu also play important roles in the film.
