Soodhu Kavvum 2 Filming Nears Completion, Sequel Promises Thrilling Continuation

Tamil film Soodhu Kavvum 2 is on the verge of completing its shooting, marking the sequel to the 2013 cult classic Soodhu Kavvum, which featured Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The sequel, titled Soodhu Kavvum: Naatum Naatu Makkalum, is said to pick up where the events of the first film left off. The movie will witness the return of some original cast members, including Karunakaran, Ramesh Thilak, Yog Japee, and Radha Ravi. Notably, Vijay Sethupathi is not part of the sequel, with actor Shiva taking on the lead role. While the first film was directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the sequel is helmed by SJ Arjun.

The official Twitter account of the film’s production house, @ThirukumaranEnt, shared the news of the film nearing completion along with behind-the-scenes shots. The tweet read, “The filming of #SoodhuKavvum’s highly anticipated sequel is nearly concluded. Here’s some from the sets of #SoodhuKavvum2: Naadum Naatu Makkalum. The God of the Lord is coming soon, with the gang, with new rules!”

Soodhu Kavvum 2 is produced under the banner of CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment. Directed by SJ Arjun, the film features a cast that includes Shiva, Sathyaraj, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Radha Ravi, and others. Edwin Louis is responsible for the music, while Karthik K Thillai handles the cinematography. The film is expected to release in the first half of 2024.

The original Soodhu Kavvum, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment, starred Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvam, Ramesh Thilak, Karunakaran, Sanchita Shetty, MS Bhasker, Yog Japee, and others. Released on May 1, 2013, with a budget of Rs 2 crore, the film went on to earn Rs 35 crore at the box office.
