Thalapathy Vijay ended 2023 with the biggest successful film of his career Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Now, the actor is back to entertain the masses once again with his upcoming film, Greatest Of All Time or GOAT. The makers treated the fans to a surprise as they released three posters, revealing the actor’s killer squad in the film. The first poster also hinted at Thalapathy Vijay’s dual role in the film. Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, The Greatest of All Time is slated to release in late 2024.
Notably, GOAT went on floors under the working title Thalapathy 68 in October 2023. On December 31, 2023, the makers dropped the first look and official title of the film, following which the second promotional photo was also released leaving fans excited for the release of the Vijay starrer film. On January 15, the third promotional photo of the science fiction films was made public. Given the development in the production of the film, it is highly likely that the film may reach theatres by the end of June or later in the year. The delay in release date could be because GOAT is a science fiction film and therefore, will take a considerable time in post-production.
Reportedly, Netflix bagged the streaming rights for the film and has paid a hefty amount to buy the same. As per the reports, the makers are ensuring that the film’s release does not clash with any other project.
Greatest Of All Time will bring Thalapathy Vijay and Venkat Prabhu together for the first time. As per the speculations, he will be playing father and son both in the film. Earlier last year, Vijay and Prabhu were seen jetting off to Los Angeles, California to understand and try out de-aging technology. GOAT will be featuring an ensemble cast including Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Yogi Babu, and several others in prominent roles, apart from the ones in the new poster.
