New Delhi: Acer has updated its all-in-one Aspire Z3-700 portable PC with an internal battery at a time when the PC market is dwindling and software maker Microsoft is offering its best Windows 10 models.
While the idea of including an internal battery has been explored before, Acer’s attempt to add the power source that is said to run up to 5 hours in the 17.3-inch desktop PC will make the lightest convertible at 2kgs more robust than before.
A report on Engadget notes that while the added battery will make it a bigger tablet, but Acer’s argument is that the dual kickstand, akin to the Surface line of convertibles, 1080p resolution, and the 10-point multi-touch screen make the Aspire Z3-700 a worthy desktop PC competitor.
The Aspire Z3-700 is powered by the latest Intel 6thgen Core Skylake or Celeron CPU with up to 8 GB of RAM. It also comes with support for a dedicated stylus.
The all-in-one convertible is expected to arrive by the end of 2015 in European market starting at 599 euros (approx $680).
The company also unveiled a new 14-inch Aspire R14 convertible notebook that features a new diamond-cut edge design and smaller, 360-degree dual-torque hinge. It is also equipped with sixth-gen Skylake CPUs, SSD or HDD disks and up to 8 GB of RAM. It will start selling by month-end in the US at $699.
