New Delhi: The next time you pass by a restaurant and want to book a place for the evening, all you got to do is ask Google about it, without the need to physically walk into the place.
This is made possible by what Google calls – Location Aware Search, or geocontextual search. This new search app uses your current location in relation to your queries about surrounding places.
An Android Police report notes that the Location Aware Search app basically allows you to ask questions without specifying an address or proper place name and still get information if you're near said place.
You could ask questions like, when does this restaurant open, or how tall a particular building is, or what is the phone number for this pharmacy.
Currently, the app seems to be limited to the US. However, in the long run, it could be expanded to other regions.
