The makers of Nokia phones have launched their first HMD-branded smartphones in the Indian market that offers easy to repair support.

HMD has launched its first non-Nokia smartphones in the Indian market this month in the form of HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max. The new devices will be looking to compete in a crowded mid-range phone market where you have brands like Redmi, Vivo, Realme and more. HMD is focusing on the design, ease of repair and cameras on the Crest series for the Indian consumers.

HMD Crest And Crest Max Price in India

The price of HMD Crest’s 6GB+128GB variant is set at Rs 14,499 in the country, and the HMD Crest Max, on the other hand, will be made available at a price of Rs 16,499 for the 8GB+256GB version.

The HMD Crest will be available in three colorways, namely Lush Lilac, Midnight Blue, and Royal Pink, while the HMD Crest Max comes in Deep Purple, Aqua Green, and Royal Pink finishes.

HMD Crest, Crest Max Specifications

HMD Crest and Crest Max sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Both models are powered by Unisoc T760 5G SoC chipset.

HMD Crest gets 6GB of RAM with an additional 6GB of RAM expansion and 128GB storage, while the Crest Max boasts 8GB of RAM with 8GB expansion capability and 256GB storage. The HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max 5G run on Android 14, with HMD promising two years of security updates.

HMD is also bringing its unique Repairability 1.0 feature that simplifies the replacement of components like the back panel, battery, display, and charging port. The company has introduced this feature with an aim to extend device lifespan and reduce e-waste.

For optics, the HMD Crest sports an AI-backed 50MP dual rear camera setup. The HMD Crest Max 5G, on the other hand, has a triple rear camera unit, comprising a 64MP primary camera featuring a Sony sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor to elevate the photography experience. Moreover, both the 5G smartphones boasts a 50MP selfie camera.

Other notable features include a ‘Hands-Free Selfie’ mode with gesture control, a flash shot feature for capturing moving subjects, and an AI Super Portrait mode.
