WhatsApp Rolls Out Picture-in-Picture (PiP) For All Android Users: Everything You Need to Know
The PiP mode appeared first on WhatsApp beta, so that it could be tested and tweaked before it was made available for the final stable version.

After being under test for a few months now, popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has finally rolled out the new PiP mode feature for all its Android users. The feature is available on WhatsApp version 2.18.385 and above. The PiP mode appeared first on WhatsApp beta, so that it could be tested and tweaked before it was made available for the final stable version. With this feature, users can minimise their video windows and use other apps at the same. WhatsApp users can use this feature to watch YouTube and Instagram videos without leaving the app.

After receiving the update, one won’t be redirected to any external pages from any WhatsApp chat window, if you want to watch a video sent in a chat from YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram and any other third-party platform for that matter. This mode feature for WhatsApp for Android will essentially allow users to carry on with a chat while watching the shared video simultaneously.

The PiP mode is currently compatible with YouTube, Facebook and Instagram videos only. It will make all the video links of the above mentioned social media channels streamable within the WhatsApp itself. There are also reports of Dark Mode coming to the app, which would not only make the text appear nicer, but also help in improving the battery life on smartphones, especially the ones with OLED screen.
