Deepika Singh On Comparisons Between Mangal Lakshmi And Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa
Deepika Singh has returned to the small screen after a hiatus with Mangal Lakshmi on Colors TV. She is slated to play a grounded woman, who is on a mission to find an appropriate groom for her sister.

Television actress Deepika Singh left a mark with her stint in the hit television series ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum,’ where she played the role of Sandhya Rathi. The show, which lasted for almost five years on Star Plus, shows her journey to become an IAS officer. Undoubtedly, this show remains one of the most inspiring narratives in television history. But now, the actress has returned to the small screen after a hiatus with Mangal Lakshmi on Colors TV. As per reports, she is slated to play a grounded woman in the new show, where she is on a mission to find an appropriate groom for her sister Lakshmi.

In a recent interview with Telly Bytes, Deepika opened up about the difference between Mangal Lakshmi and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa since rumours are rife comparing the storylines of both shows.

In a conversation with the entertainment news portal, the actress, on being asked about the parallel storylines of the two shows, Mangal Lakshmi and Anupamaa, said, “Bilkul nahi (no way), when I received the scripts, I was very clear that Mangal Lakshmi is not like Anupamaa.”

She went on to say that she knew the story of Mangal Lakshmi already, up to 100 to 200 episodes when she was roped in for the show.

Elaborating further, she stated that according to her, just as two people can’t ever be the same, two shows can’t be the same because the directors of the shows are different and the scriptwriters are different. Since each writer, director, and artist has a unique spirit and brings different energies to the show, no two shows can ever be the same.

Citing the parallels, the actress claimed that Mangal Lakshmi is a one-of-a-kind show as it depicts the equation between the two sisters, and her relationship with Adit is just a minor part.

The ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ actress also mentioned how much her mother-in-law enjoys Rajan Shahi’s show, Anupamaa. She said that Anupamaa is a big show that is reaping immense love and affection from its fans. She emphasised that her mother-in-law loves Rajan Shahi’s show a lot, and she will feel grateful if her show reaches the same height and receives the same love as the Rupali-Gautam starrer Anupamaa.

Meanwhile, Deepika tied the knot with Rohit Raj Goyal, the director of Diya Aur Baati Hum, in a private wedding ceremony in 2014. The couple embraced parenthood on May 20, 2017, by welcoming a baby boy.
