Ageing is a natural process that affects everyone, leading to changes like reduced skin elasticity, wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. While these changes are normal, some individuals prefer a more youthful appearance. This preference fuels a booming cosmetics industry worth billions, catering to both non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments. But there is one man who has forgotten to show signs of ageing. Chuando Tan, a fashion photographer from Singapore, has gained recognition for his appearance, which makes him appear much younger than his actual age of 58.

Tan started modelling in the 1980s, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP). Before turning to photography in the 1990s, he was a pop performer for a short time. Photographer Tan specialises in fashion and has his own studio, ChuanDo & Frey. He has shot for L’Officiel with singer Rita Ora and actors Rosamund Kwan and Shu Qi, as per SCMP.

He also attempted acting, making his stage debut in 2020 in Precious Is The Night, according to CNA Lifestyle. In an interview with the same publication, he revealed that he had written a coffee-table book about his “journey and perspective towards life.”

In July 2017, Tan’s Instagram account gained a significant amount of followers due to a Chinese website promoting it. This led to Tan being popular, as per British media.

Many people speculated about his young appearance, according to SCMP. Some said it was due to genetics, while others praised Singapore’s air quality, first-rate healthcare system, and easy access to high-end goods.

Meanwhile, Tan shared details of his everyday routine with The Post. Tan thinks that our emotional and physical appearance are greatly influenced by the food we consume. He thinks that our food contributes to 70% of our mental and physical well-being, with physical exercise accounting for the remainder.

Breakfast for him is usually six hard-boiled eggs, of which he removes two yolks to regulate his cholesterol. Every now and again, he eats berries and avocado.

Tan’s other meals frequently include chicken and rice, grilled veggies and fish soup. He occasionally indulges in ice cream. He avoids tea and coffee in favour of a lot of water to keep hydrated.

Tan selects the food group—protein—instead of a specific food when asked what one food he couldn’t survive without. He works out three or four times a week for thirty minutes each, focusing on weight training. He swims practically every day and takes quick walks on the treadmill.

Because vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and is essential for the repair and renewal of our bodies, he takes a supplement of it.

Among the hordes of individuals attempting to turn back the clock, does he regard himself as a biohacker? Not at all, Tan told The Post. Even with his commitment to wellbeing and fitness, he describes himself as a “normal human being”.
