RCB or DC? Virat Kohli Team's New 'Red-Blue' Jersey for Rs 5K Leaves Fans Disappointed
RCB unveils new jersey at the Unbox 2024 event and fans can't stop meme-ing about it. Check viral reactions here.

RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis, Smriti Mandhana leading the women’s team, and the powerhouse Virat Kohli stepped onto the stage at the RCB Unbox 2024 event, igniting the crowd’s excitement as they unveiled the team’s fresh logo and jersey at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The jersey boasts a design with the RCB emblem proudly embossed on the left side, painting a vivid picture with shades of gold, red, and blue, echoing the team’s vibrant spirit. Noteworthy is the updated RCB logo, now proudly featuring the full name “Royal Challengers Bengaluru.”

However, the unveiling didn’t quite hit a home run with all cricket fans, with some staunchly standing by the traditional black and red jersey. Interestingly, murmurs of resemblance between RCB’s new attire and that of the Delhi Capitals (DC) team, albeit in similar shades but distinctive designs, began to surface.

“Imagine spending ₹4,999 on a RCB jersey that has “Delhi” written in the top right corner…,” quipped one user, sharing a screenshot of the new jersey for sale. Another followed: “Meet RCB team …Jersey Launched – 8 times…Unbox event – 6 times…Trophy revealed – 0 times.”

And just like that, social media platforms got flooded with memes as fans indulged in playful banter over the not-so-well-received change by the RCB franchise.

Meanwhile, amidst the fervour of the event, fan darlings Kohli, Du Plessis, Mohammed Siraj, and Glenn Maxwell basked in the adulation of the crowd as they graced the field alongside other luminaries of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru roster within the bustling stadium.

The triumphant women’s team, under the leadership of Mandhana, shared the spotlight as they received a heartfelt guard of honour from their male counterparts.

In a momentous gesture, former Indian pacer and RCB stalwart R Vinay Kumar, who remains the third-highest wicket-taker for RCB, was enshrined into the esteemed RCB Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.
