Waterparks have long been a beloved destination for families seeking splash of excitement. However, despite the joy they bring, concerns over safety have loomed large due to past incidents. Now, a recent video going viral on the internet has brought those concerns to the forefront once again.

The viral video showcases a man taking the plunge into the water slide. What makes this footage particularly gripping is the journey it depicts. As the person enters the slide, he is enveloped with darkness, hurtling through a pitch-black hole before emerging into a neon tube. However, the chilling aspect of the ride becomes apparent as the camera reveals that the tube is completely filled with water. The man is fully submerged in the water as he navigates through the twists and turns of the slide. Despite being submerged, the individual continues his journey, emerging from the other side after a heart-pounding 15-20 seconds.

The video was shared on Reddit by ‘r/Damnthatsinteresting’ along with the caption that reveals that the ride is located at Duinrell amusement park in the Netherlands. However, the ride was operational from 1994 to 2010. “There was a water slide at Duinrell amusement park in the Netherlands that operated from 1994 to 2010. It was filled to the brim with water, leaving riders completely submerged throughout their 15-20 second journey,” the caption read.

The video stirred a flurry of reactions across the online community as it quickly went viral. Reflecting on his experience, one user reminisced, “Been there, done that as a kid. Its pretty scary the first time but subsequent one’s were okay. I was used to holding my breath and swimming underwater for a long time though. I get why it was closed though, something like this is just asking for trouble eventually. Holding your breath for 15-20 seconds is not that long but the fact you HAVE to endure it makes it kind of scary.”

“Nope. Nope. Nope. Anxiety attack just picturing that,” another user expressed.

“How in the hell did that thing stay open for 16 years??” an individual wrote in disbelief.

According to the reports, the water slide named as Fly Over was an underwater water slide which transported riders from one pool to another using the water as propulsion.

Sharing their perspective, a person commented, “I don’t hate the idea but watching that video was stressful. Maybe it feels faster on the inside but it looked like he was moving through the slide so slow, if I’m being submerged in a tube I better be moving as fast as it’s possible to move me.”

“I feel like I’m drowning reading this. I’m bad at breath holding and I would certainly drown in this,” a viewer wrote.
