Outdoor activities play a crucial role in a child’s overall growth. Toddlers who spend time outside develop good coordination, motor skills and strength. Indulging in fun activities can also build confidence, promote creativity and create problem-solving skills. And when they succeed in any mini-outdoorsy adventure, the joy in their eyes is simply unmissable. Walking along a similar vein, a month-old video of a little kid catching his first fish on a fishing outing will surely bring a smile to your face. His adorable reaction to achieving the feat is doing rounds on social media.

The clip shared on Instagram on April 15 captures a toddler holding a fishing rod in his hands. A few seconds later, he presumably feels a tug at the submerged end of the rod. Realising that a fish is stuck on the tip, the kid starts rotating the reel to pull his catch on the surface. With the encouragement of a senior male figure present with him, the kid continues operating the reel with dexterity. When another older woman tries to help him out, the other man urges her to allow the child to do the task himself.

After a masterful display of patience and resilience, the kid is finally able to pull the fish up to the surface. Startled at the achievement, he stares at the fish for some time before the male guardian cheers and appreciates his efforts. The duo share a high-five before the kiddo drops the fishing rod, and runs in delight across the field to share the fish-catching news with his mother. His winning smile after executing the not-so-easy challenge, all by himself was discernable.

The video was quick to strike a chord with the masses. Lauding the man’s words of encouragement to the child, one user commented, “Let him do it. Yes sir.”

“So glad he had confidence in the little guy. That amount of support is so cool. He’s so happy!” agreed another.

“That “I’m gonna tell my mama” I can literally feel him & his excitement,” pointed out another person. “The mother must be so supportive of him,” guessed someone else.

So far, the video has garnered over 7 million views. What are your thoughts on it?
