Pregnancy is considered a beautiful phase in women’s life. But it is equally difficult to even imagine the unbearable pain that a woman is compelled to experience while delivering a baby. Biffy Hale, a woman from Seattle, had a completely different experience as she sang throughout her labour to deliver her son. At the same time, her husband played guitar to make her feel better. He says that her wife hardly experienced pain and it “felt like a vacation.” Biffy Hell, 31, and her musician husband, Brandon, 30, reportedly sang hymns and their favourite songs during the woman’s five-hour labour in November. The couple wanted to have a natural home birth, but Biffy ended up going to the hospital for induction after 42 weeks in her pregnancy. As she arrived at the hospital, her water broke which the woman defined as “traumatic.” Recalling the same, she said, “With my first, I really wanted a home birth. I’m terrified of needles”. Witnessing the trauma of her first pregnancy, the woman wanted a natural birth for her second delivery.

Biffy, while speaking to SWNS about her experience of delivering the baby, said, “It was pain management — it really helped singing to focus on controlling the breath. I was shocked I didn’t have that much pain. It felt like a vacation.” When Biffy was admitted to the Birth Cottage, she started singing, laughing, and moving to avoid focusing on contractions. She and her husband started singing “Beautiful Saviour” by the Planetshakers and Sheryl Crow’s 1993 hit “Strong Enough.”

They sang for four hours on and off. Later, she found herself unable to do it 30 minutes before giving birth to Jack. Her son, Jack, was born at 8:20 pm on November 20, 2023, weighing exactly 7 pounds. He was very “relaxed” at the time he was born. Biffy shared, “The birth was a completely different experience. I felt so lucky to have the experience I was having.”

The couple informed that their children might grow up loving music as he listens to their parents singing to each other all the time.
