Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Gurgaon’s Second Richest Person, But Who Holds The Top Spot?

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal is number two among the twenty-three wealthiest Gurgaon residents with a net worth of around Rs 1,000 crore. So who is the wealthiest Gurgaon resident? It’s UNO Minda chairman and managing director, Nirmal Kumar Minda. As per the Hurun India Rich List 2024, Minda has a net worth that surpasses that of Goyal by almost three times.

The predicted net worth of the UNO Minda chairman and his family in 2024 is Rs 30,800 crore, or almost $3.6 billion. As a result, Minda is the richest person in Gurgaon and the 91st richest person in India.

Who is Nirmal Kumar Minda?

He serves as Uno Minda chairman and managing director. The firm was founded by Minda’s late father, Shadilal Minda. The company started as a small workshop in Delhi that sold motorbike accessories and electric parts. UNO Minda now produces an assortment of vehicle components for both automobiles and motorcycles. Nirmal Kumar Minda began working for the family company in 1977. Its wealth increased by 68% in the past year. He rose to become Gurgaon’s richest person in 2024.

Minda is married to Suman Minda, the head of Uno Minda’s corporate social responsibility organisation, Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF).

Minda and Deepinder Goyal, respectively, occupy the top two slots on Hurun’s Gurgaon Rich List. Goyal’s estimated net worth is Rs 9,300 crore.

In 2008, Goyal co-founded the food delivery startup Zomato. Zomato purchased the Blinkit rapid commerce platform in 2022. Zomato’s stock rose 7.7% in early trading hours on September 5 when JP Morgan, a major global investment firm, increased its target price to Rs 261.60 a share. The multinational investment behemoth highlighted Zomato’s Blinkit business growth, which has been effectively expanded in most metro areas after Delhi NCR.

Meanwhile, Varun Alagh, the founder of Honasa Consumer Ltd., and his wife Ghazal Alagh are the third richest people in Gurgaon. With their Mamaearth brand, their projected net value for 2024 is Rs 5,900 crore.

Jyoti Bhatia, the sister of IndiGo Airlines co-founder Rahul Bhatia, comes in at number four on the list with a net worth of Rs 4,500 crore. Completing the top five is Gawar Construction’s Ravinder Kumar, whose estimated net worth is Rs 4,300 crore.
