US Senate Committee to Hold Hearing on Pakistan This Week
A powerful US Senate Committee will hold a Congressional hearing this week on the nature of bilateral cooperation with Pakistan on counter-terrorism.

Washington: A powerful US Senate Committee will hold a Congressional hearing this week on the nature of bilateral cooperation with Pakistan on counter-terrorism.

Senator Bob Corker, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has invited one South Asia expert who specialises on counter-terrorism and another on nuclear non-proliferation to testify before it during the hearing titled 'Pakistan: Challenges for US Interests'.

The hearing has been scheduled for September 8.

The invited witnesses are Toby Dalton, co-Director, Nuclear Policy Programme, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; and Daniel Markey from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University.

A day earlier, Corker has also scheduled a hearing on Obama Administration's proposal for a UN resolution on the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty.

Stephen Rademaker from the Podesta Group and Michael Krepon from the Stimson Center have been invited as witnesses.
