WWE SmackDown Results: Bloodline Defeated; Carmelo Hayes Sustains Serious Injury
Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ Styles trashed The Bloodline's Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in a Handicap Match on WWE SmackDown.

The latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw a major development to WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view event Royal Rumble. The show was slated to begin with a high-voltage clash between Grayson Waller and Cameron Grimes. That could not happen after Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso caused an interference. The duo attacked Grimes, with Waller quickly stepping down from the squared circle. Following the brief altercation, Heyman and the Bloodline came up on the stage and blamed Nick Aldis for setting up the Fatal Four-Way championship match against Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble.

More drama was awaiting as Aldis took the mic and announced a match between the Bloodline and the team of AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and LA Knight on SmackDown. While all of these were going on, the Bloodline had already vacated the ring and went backstage. Heyman further informed Aldis about Roman Reigns’ unavailability, meaning Uso and Sikoa would need a third member to replace him in the Bloodline. Heyman came forward and assured them that he would try to find a strong teammate for the duo ahead of the scheduled fight. If it was not possible, both teams would go into a 2-on-3 handicap match.

Apart from these, a few single fights unfolded on January 12’s episode of SmackDown. Let’s take a look at the results of those matches:

Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo vs LWO:

Before the match began, Santos Escober, from the commentary box, claimed that the LWO and Rey Mysterio broke his trust. LWO pulled off a dominant start, with Garza receiving some brutal treatment early on. He finally came back with a Del Toro before Carrilo went on to attack Escober. The distraction helped Garza get the better of Joaquin Wilde and secure the win.

Bayley vs Bianca Belair:

Bayley started off the fight quite brutally as she tied Bianca Belair’s hair to the rope before launching a knee strike. Belair countered with a modified KOD, which Bayley managed to dodge. As the match was going away from her hand, Belair sought help from her teammates but IYO and the others refused to interfere. It didn’t matter at all as Belair finally emerged victorious by using the KOD.

Carmelo Hayes vs Austin Theory:

Austin Theory was quickly taken down as Hayes began the match with a big DDT, which was followed by an inverted atomic drop and a clothesline. Theory countered with an elbow strike. He attempted a suplex as well but ended up receiving a superkick. Heyes aimed to use his finisher but Theory was well aware of his motive and attacked on his opponent’s head, leading to a gruesome injury. The referee immediately called off the match as Hayes required medical attention.

The Bloodline vs AJ Styles, Randy Orton & LA Knight:

Sikoa and Uso attacked Randy Orton on his way to the ring and took him down, making it a traditional tag team match. Knight and Styles then took over the charge and attacked Uso. Sikoa was immediately tagged in and got rid of Styles. The Bloodline was dominating the proceedings when Orton came back to rejoin the match. His involvement helped Styles and Knight take down Sikoa and pick up the win.
