A server malfunction resulted in significant disruptions to operations at the International Departure section of Chennai Airport.
Approximately 1,500 passengers experienced inconvenience as international flights were affected, with reports suggesting that up to nine outbound services were impacted.
The technical issue came to light around 1:30 AM but was successfully resolved by 6 AM, as per airport officials. Chennai Airport authorities informed that the technical problems stemmed from a network outage, which forced airlines to resort to manual check-in procedures, affecting a total of 18 flights.
The outage was attributed to fluctuations in the Firewall, but the IT team at Chennai Airport promptly took the necessary actions to resolve the issue. Furthermore, authorities mentioned that they are currently scrutinizing event logs to pinpoint the underlying causes of these incidents.
