With the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) around the corner, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has reportedly started his preparations. During his last IPL appearance, the former India skipper led Chennai to their fifth title in 2023. The IPL 2023 final against Gujarat Titans was also Dhoni’s last appearance in competitive cricket. Dhoni is now all set to return to action in the upcoming season of IPL. Ahead of his much-awaited return, the former Indian skipper was recently seen paying a visit to Maa Dewri temple located near Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand. A video of Dhoni seeking blessings at the temple has now gone viral on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

In the video, MS Dhoni can be seen surrounded by fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of the World Cup-winning captain. Some even took selfies with the former India skipper.

After witnessing a sensational IPL campaign last year, fans are now eagerly waiting for MS Dhoni’s return to the competition. Dhoni had struggled throughout the last season due to a knee injury and there have been series of speculations surrounding his potential return to the competition this time. Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently spoke to news agency ANI about the injury status of Dhoni.

“He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes, started training. By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play,” Kasi Viswanathan had said in December last year.

Chennai Super Kings completed some impressive acquisitions at the latest IPL auction where they roped in some big names like Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra and Shardul Thakur.
