The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the extension of the re-registration deadline for all programs offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL)/Online mode for the January 2024 session. The revised deadline now allows candidates to re-register until February 15, 2024. Interested candidates can complete their re-registration process through the official website, ignou.ac.in. The earlier registration deadline without a late fee was January 29, 2024.
The official IGNOU handle on the platform X (formerly Twitter) tweeted the extension, stating, “The last date for “Re-registration” for all programs offered in ODL/Online mode for the January 2024 session has been extended till 15th February 2024.”

According to the notification released by IGNOU, “You will need to register on the Portal. Please click the “New Registration’ button to proceed. If you have already registered on the portal, you may use your Username and Password to log in. In case you face difficulty in registering on the portal (not getting OTP/forgetting Username/Password or any other difficulty), please approach your Regional Centre for re-setting of your account/updating email ID or mobile number.”
IGNOU ODL/Online mode programmes January 2024: How to Apply
Step 1: Go to the official website, onlinerr.ignou.ac.in
Step 2: On the homepage, scroll down and click the “Proceed for Re-registration” button.
Step 3: Select the “New Registration” option and provide the necessary details. If you are already registered, log in using your username and password.
Step 4: Choose your courses carefully.
Step 5: Fill up the form and complete the fee payment process.
Step 6: Take a printout of the confirmation for future reference.
If your online payment doesn’t reflect immediately, kindly refrain from making a second payment right away. Allow a day to pass, verify the payment status, and then make a decision. If you accidentally make two payments for the same application, don’t worry – one of them will be refunded to your account.
