Punjab University (PU) has released the tentative merit list for the Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Master of Law (LLM) courses on August 2. Candidates can view or download their tentative merit list from the official website: onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in. As the merit list is tentative, the candidates can raise any question or objection(s) against the PU LLB, LLM by today, August 3 through their website. According to the schedule, all rights for modification or removal of rejections by the categories, weights verification team, and the department will be active until 5 August 2024.
PU LLB, LLM Admissions 2024: Eligibility Criteria
For PU LLB, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. General category students must have secured at least 45 per cent marks in aggregate and for the SC/ST/BC category candidates, the minimum required marks are 40 per cent in aggregate. There is no age limit to apply for the PU LLB entrance exam.
Eligibility criteria for PU LLM candidates is that they must have an LLB degree (3-year or 5-year integrated course) from Panjab University or any other recognised university. General category candidates must have secured at least 55 per cent in the LLB degree. For SC/ST/BC category candidates, the minimum required marks are 50 per cent in the LLB degree. Just like LLB, here there is also no specific age limit for the PU LLM entrance exam.

Step 1: Visit the website: onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the link for the tentative merit list.
Step 3: Find the merit list PDF and check for your name and rank.
Step 4: Download and take a printout of the PDF for future reference.
PU LLB, LLM Admissions 2024: Important Dates
–– August 7, 2024: Uploading of provisional merit list after clearing all objections.
–– August 8- August 9, 2024: Submission of the provisional list to DUI office.
–– August 9- August 14, 2024: Counselling for Departments Proposing Counselling.
–– August 16- August 17, 2024: Submission of Provisional Admission List for Departments Proposing Counselling.
–– Up to August 21: Approval of Provisional Merit List by DUI office.
The date for the uploading of documents, fee submission and the commencement of classes will be notified later by the DUI office.
PU LLB, LLM Admissions 2024: Exam Pattern
Both the LLB and LLM exam will be conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The duration of the examination is 1.5 hours (90 minutes). The total marks for the examination is 100 and all the questions will be MCQ types.
The PU LLB entrance exam is divided into three sections: general Knowledge and current affairs, legal aptitude and reasoning ability and knowledge of English. For the PU LLM exam, the sections are: Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Other Law Subjects (Criminal Law, International Law, Human Rights, Environment Law, etc).
