Mumbai: The Indian national football team has gained a place to be 162nd in the latest rankings released on Thursday, according to world football's governing body FIFA.
India currently have 139 points, according the list.
India climbed three more spots from 166th to 163rd after winning the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, beating Afghanistan 2-1 in the final last month.
Iran (44) are the highest-ranked Asian nation while the SAFF Cup runners-up Afghanistan have fallen a spot and are now in the 154th position.
On the other hand, world champions Germany are in the fourth spot. Belgium top the list, followed by second-placed and World Cup runners-up Argentina. Spain are third.
Five-time Champions Brazil are in sixth spot.
Portugal are in the seventh position, followed by Columbia in eighth, England in ninth and Australia in 10th spot.
