5 held for stoning actor S Ve Shekhers house

CHENNAI: Police in Chennai arrested five people on Saturday after an attack on actor S Ve Shekher’s house. Police said Ravanan (27), Nathigan (25), Deepan (26), Vinayagam (26) and Thamaraikannan (26) belong to Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (PDK). They reportedly hurled petrol bombs and pelted stones at the actor’s house at Mandaveli on Tuesday night. Glass on the windows of the house and a car were damaged in the attack. Police sources said the incident followed the former MLA’s comments on television against clemency for the plotters facing execution in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
