5.7-magnitude earthquake hits Hindu Kush region, tremors felt in Kashmir Valley, other parts of north India
The Hindu Kush mountain ranges are known to be prone to earthquakes.

New Delhi: An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale rocked north India on Monday evening, with tremors also felt in Kashmir valley.

The epicenter of the quake was Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. The quake was felt in Delhi and other parts of north India.

The Hindu Kush mountain ranges are known to be prone to earthquakes.

Incidentally, another high intensity earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 on Richter Scale hit the Solomon Islands at around 9.42 AM on Monday.
