BANGALORE: Stark Communications was adjudged the ‘Agency of the Year’ at Big Bang 2011, Bangalore’s very own advertising awards ceremony. Stark won a total of six golds, four silvers and three bronze in various advertising and promotion categories, beating a very stiff competition from other eminent firms like Mudra and Origami. Stark also won two individual honours for excellence in communication and media. Jaison Antony and Seetha Jayakumar were named the ‘Art Director of the Year’ and the ‘Copywriter of the Year’ respectively.The Big Bang was conducted under the auspices of the Bangalore Advertising Club. The awards were given away at a gala function on June 3 at the Palace Grounds. Advertising agencies Leo Burnett, Meridian, Disha Communications and Dentsu were the other winners. Among media agencies, Maxis was declared the ‘Media Agency of the Year’, piping Mindshare to the title.This is the first time ever that Stark is winning the biggest prize at the Big Bang.  The works were entered for their clients Malayala Manorama, Kerala Tourism, Radio Mango, Karnataka Tourism and Heera Constructions.Karnataka Tourism was one of the major winners at Big Bang, as the Direct Mailer created for them won a gold in the category, and the campaign released for the Karnataka Food Festival won a Bronze.In March 2011, Stark was adjudged ‘Agency of the Year’ at Pepper Creative Awards (Ad Club Cochin) too, where Karnataka Tourism was declared the ‘Advertiser of the Year’.
