Adhere to SC directions on crackers

PUDUCHERRY: The Pollution Control Board has asked the public to comply with the interim directions of the Supreme Court during manufacturing, sale and use of crackers.According to apex court directions, fire crackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB (A) at four meters distance and joined crackers exceeding 125 dB (A) from the point of bursting is strictly prohibited.Crackers cannot be lit between 10 pm and 6 am. And fire works cannot be used at any time in the silence zone - an area not less than 100 m around hospitals, religious places, educational institutions, court buildings etc.
