Srinagar: In its attempt to make inroads in Kashmir Valley, BJP in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday launched a week-long mass-contact programme from Anantnag district, for the first time since joining the PDP-led government.
To connect with the people and grass-root level workers, 'Maha Sampark' programme was launched on Friday by the BJP which will also help the party "realise its strength".
"We have kick-started a mass contact programme 'Maha Sampark' from Anantnag district.
"The motive of the programme is to reach out to the grass-root level workers, particularly those who recently joined the party," BJP state general secretary Ashok Kaul said. Kaul is heading the programme.
He said the mass-contact programme will help the party realise its strength in the area and at the same time it will also help the party workers to convey their grievances to their seniors.
"We want to develop the mass-contact with the new party workers so that their involvement in the developmental process is ensured," the BJP leader said adding it would help the party to know the "genuine and dedicated" workers, who would be promoted in the party ranking later.
Kaul said the programme would continue till May 6 and will be held at different places across Kashmir Valley.
