CHENNAI: Music lovers in the city got a chance to unwind to a contemporary-classical mix of songs recently at an Unplugged Night presented by Amaranta Entertainment. With familiar faces from the music circuit — Mark Thomas and Nrithya Andrews (Vocals), Vivin Kuruvilla (Keys), Pharez Mervyn (Acoustic Guitar) and Michael Williams (Bass) — at their best, 10 Downing Street was, needless to say, crowded, as several made their way up front to sway to a rather soulful version of Bon Jovi’s It’s my life. For metal heads in the audience, it was perhaps a first to catch Wolf Lair frontman, Mark Thomas, crooning a much softer and romantic I’m Yours (Jason Mraz). With an impressive setlist, some of the favourites of the evening included The Way You Make Me Feel (Michael Jackson), Paparazzi (Lady Gaga) and the ever popular Temple of the King (Rainbow).Of course, Leaving on a Jetplane had to make its way in somewhere, and at this show, it seemed a fitting ending note.
