HYDERABAD: A private security guard opened fire in air in a highly inebriated condition creating a flutter at Mettuguda crossroads on Tuesday reportedly over denial of leave by his employer. A traffic constable pinned down the security guard to the ground and overpowered him.According to Chilkalguda police inspector B Anjaiah, 52-year Anand Singh from Bihar was hired as a security guard by Sahiti Manpower Placement services.He was deployed to guard Mannapuram gold finance company's office at Mettuguda crossroads.On Tuesday, Anand Singh reportedly asked the security agency for leave which was turned down.``Around 10.30 a.m, Anand Singh came down from the third floor office of the gold finance company and opened fire into the air with his gun,'' Anjaiah said..A traffic constable, Khasim, who was on duty, pounced on the security guard and overpowered him.Police took Anand Singh into custody.A case under Arms Act was registered and investigation is on.
