New Delhi: The Dainik Jagran group has promised to take disciplinary action against journalist Jarnail Singh who threw a shoe at Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday in New Delhi.
Jarnail Singh also regretted his method of protest but felt that his fight for justice was right.
Even Singh's family was surprised as were his friends. They say he is a mild mannered and religious man.
"I don't know why he did this. He is usually very calm," said his mother Naseeb Kaur.
Singh's family friend also claimed that the journalist was a very calm man.
"He is a religious man and visits the temple everyday. Check his record. He is a very calm person. Something must have made him angry enough to do this," said his family friend Aman.
However, Secretary General of India's Editor's Guild KS Sachidanandan said Singh violated the decorum journalists must maintain under all circumstances.
