New Delhi: Vijay Mallya-owned Formula One team Force India has announced its drivers line-up for the 2008 season.
Former Renault driver Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil have been named as the drivers while Vitantonio Liuzzi will be the test and reserve driver.
In 2007, Mallya had bought the struggling Formula One team Spykar, which was earlier known as Jordan and renamed it Force India Formula One team. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is the brand ambassador for the Force India team.
Fisichella, the 34-year-old from Italy, had impressed the team during the four-day test in Jerez, Spain, at the end of 2007. He drove for Renault last season.
Fisichella has 12 years of F1 experience and has driven for Minardi, Jordan, Benetton, Sauber and Renault.
He has three wins, three pole positions and 267 points to his credit.
On the other hand, Sutil is in his second year in the Formula One and had claimed his first championship point in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The 28-year-old Liuzzi has three years of experience in F1 and was earlier associated with Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
Commenting on the driver's line-up Mallya said, "The Force India Formula One Team is a serious project and we wanted to make a statement to this effect with our driver line-up. Money is not the issue now: we need drivers who will push the team and give us direction. The race line-up of Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil is a very good one, balancing both speed and experience, and Tonio will provide the team with solid support in his testing programme. I think we have a very strong driver line-up for 2008."
