Kolkata: A Kolkata-Frankfurt flight made an emergency landing at 5 AM in the morning at Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport.
Officials said, the Lufthansa Flight LH-751, made the emergency landing because of some technical problem.
The 155 passengers on board, including the cabin crew are safe and have been given accommodation in a hotel near the airport.
The flight, LH 751 had taken off from the airport at 1:15 AM, but soon passengers reported smoke filling the cabin, after which the pilot decided to land, airport sources said.
The plane landed safely at 3:15 AM, they said.
The sources said that the aircraft had developed a 'critical engine error'.
The flight is under repair now.
