Former CM Nishank demands imposition of President's rule in Uttarakhand
Former Uttarakhand chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank on Friday demanded imposition of President's rule in the state charging Vijay Bahuguna government with total failure in addressing problems of disaster-hit areas.

Former Uttarakhand chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank on Friday demanded imposition of President's rule in the state charging Vijay Bahuguna government with total failure in addressing problems of disaster-hit areas.

"The state government has utterly failed in handling the situation after the crisis. Scores of villages are still cut off from the rest of the country and facing a foodgrain crisis," Nishank told reporters in Dehradun.

Alleging that the state government had no moral right to continue in office after "failing to deliver at a time when the state was in the throes of one of the worst crises in its history," he demanded that the state be immediately brought under President's rule.
